future fund raising
activities.

Volunteerism has a cost. The youth was ready to give their time and effort to the cause of
nation-building. They know that the trip to the Philippines wasn't going to be funded solely by their
parents. They will have to work hard to make things happen.

Aside from the successful
Spring into Action, the dinner and dance for a cause held last May
5, the youth needed additional funding from relatives and friends. They were given the tools from
trainings with Greg Forbes as well as support by Elvie Tan, a noted fund-raiser.

Nika held a garage sale and bazaar. Christine, instead of receiving gifts during her 18th
birthday opted for cash gifts to defray program costs, and
Aldrich worked and accepted
several summer jobs.
Therese, continues to sell her jewelry wares and is preparing for a
teach-in as a livelihood give-back project to the GK village the team will visit while in the
Philippines.

True to our slogan , the GK Youth Build is indeed building the youth of today.  Nika, Christine,
Aldrich, Therese and
the rest of the GKYB Youth volunteers are perfect examples!
