At first, I had only heard about GK through a friend. I
thought it was a wonderful organization that helps
the poor. I did not know many of the details. The
only thing that I knew about the organization was that
it builds homes for the poor. I decided to participate
in the annual nationwide GK7 Walk in Brampton. It
was a wonderful event that gathered many people
together raising funds and awareness on behalf of
the poor. Months later, the very same friend had
asked me if I would like to volunteer with this
organization by helping recruit youths to volunteer
with the organization in the Philippines. Being an
advocate for the poor, I quickly obliged.
Coincidentally, my family and I have been planning a
trip to the Philippines within two months time. I
decided to put visiting the GK villages on my itinerary
while I was there to capture a more vivid example of
how these villages are constructed. Most of all, I
wanted to know the poor people that benefit from
them and learn how their lives were transformed.

For your comments:
"I figured if I am going to be a
volunteer of this organization
then it would beneficial to see
where all this effort and funds
are allocated ."
